Sky certified as Starlight Destination (Tourist Destination category) since 2014Guided observation with professional telescopesMore than 300 clear nights a year

Star observation in the Teide National Park takes advantage of one of the best skies in the world: it is certified as a Starlight Destination in the Tourist Destination category by the Starlight Foundation, a recognition that became official in January 2014. At more than 2,000 meters above sea level and above the sea of clouds of the trade winds, the clean and stable atmosphere allows for more than 300 clear nights a year. During the activity, specialized guides explain the sky and professional telescopes are used to observe the craters of the Moon, the rings of Saturn, star clusters, galaxies, and nebulae.
From Tenerife, 83 of the 88 recognized constellations are visible, making these sessions a reference astronomical experience in Europe.
