Teide Cable Car
Updated 2 August 2026
The Teide Cable Car ascends from the Base Station, at 2,356 m, to the Upper Station of La Rambleta, at 3,555 m, in about 8 minutes, overcoming a height difference of nearly 1,200 m. It is the highest cable car in Spain and leaves visitors a short distance from the crater, with viewpoints towards the La Orotava Valley and, on clear days, the neighboring islands of La Gomera, La Palma, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria. From La Rambleta, short trails like La Fortaleza and Pico Viejo start, while the ascent to the peak of Teide (3,715 m) via the Telesforo Bravo trail requires a mandatory paid prior reservation (eco-tax) through the official Tenerife ON platform (tenerifeon.es).
It operates all year except on December 25th and during occasional suspensions due to wind or weather conditions.
