Puerto de la Cruz Carnival
The second most important carnival in Tenerife after Santa Cruz. More intimate and local, with street parades, comparsas, murgas, queen election and the traditional burial of the sardine. The atmosphere is more personal and authentic, with Puerto locals dressing up and dancing through the streets of the historic center.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival
The second largest carnival in the world, surpassed only by Rio de Janeiro. Weeks of parades, music, spectacular costumes, election of the Carnival Queen and the burial of the sardine. The entire island stops to celebrate this unique festival.

San Marcos Pilgrimage - Tegueste
One of the most colorful and crowded pilgrimages in Tenerife. Thousands of people dressed in traditional Canarian costumes accompany typical carts decorated by hand with grains and seeds (wheat, barley, rice, corn) and loaded with farm products through the streets of Tegueste; the traditional Tegueste boats also parade. Folk music, Canarian dances, local wine and traditional food in an unmatched festive atmosphere.
San Isidro Labrador Pilgrimage - Los Realejos
One of the most popular pilgrimages in Tenerife honoring San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers. Decorated carts pulled by oxen parade through the streets of Los Realejos, accompanied by thousands of pilgrims dressed in traditional Canarian costumes (traje de mago). Live folk music, local wine tasting and traditional Canarian food.

Cruces y Fuegos de Mayo - Los Realejos
Spectacular pyrotechnic rivalry between El Medio Street and El Sol Street, in the Realejo Alto district (Los Realejos), offering flowers and fireworks to the Cross. With more than 250 years of tradition, it is one of the largest pyrotechnic shows in Europe and has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest (2015). It is celebrated around May 3rd, Day of the Cross.
Saint John's Night - Bonfires
The most magical night of the year in Tenerife. On June 23rd, beaches and squares in numerous coastal municipalities fill with authorized bonfires, music and celebration. Tradition calls for jumping over the flames for purification, swimming in the sea at midnight and burning papers with wishes. Celebrated in all coastal towns of Tenerife, from southern to northern beaches.

Corpus Christi in La Orotava
The famous flower and volcanic sand carpets from Teide that cover the streets of La Orotava historic center. Declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest. The central carpet in the Town Hall Square is the worlds largest made with volcanic soils.
Festival of Carmen - Grand July Festivities (Puerto de la Cruz)
The most important festival in northern Tenerife. Maritime procession of the Virgin of Carmen through the port, decorated boats, fireworks over the sea and open-air dances. Weeks of celebrations with concerts and cultural activities.
Festival of the Virgin of Candelaria (August)
The most important religious celebration in the Canary Islands. Thousands of pilgrims walk from across the island to the Basilica of Candelaria to venerate the patron saint of the archipelago. On the night of August 14th a Guanche ceremony and a nighttime procession take place.

Festival of the Christ of La Laguna
The most important patron saint festivals of San Cristobal de La Laguna, in honor of the Holy Christ of La Laguna. Around September 14th, the Christ procession, concerts, fireworks, and more than 50 religious and popular events are held.

San Antonio Abad - Arona
Festival in honor of San Antonio Abad with blessing of animals, open-air dances and religious events in Arona town center.
Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot
Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of livestock farmers and protector of animals, celebrated in El Tanque around January 17th with the blessing of animals. The municipality's actual patron saint festival is Saint Anthony of Padua, on June 13th. Religious processions and popular street parties take place in this small municipality in northwestern Tenerife. The festivities maintain a rural and authentic character with participation from the whole neighborhood.
Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot
Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot in Los Silos (around January 17), patron of animals. Traditional blessing of domestic and farm animals in the town square, religious processions, bonfires and street parties. The patron saint of the municipality is Our Lady of the Light (Nuestra Señora de la Luz), whose festivities take place in September.

Puerto de la Cruz Carnival

Icod de los Vinos Carnival
The Carnival of Icod de los Vinos, in the town of the Millenary Drago, stands out for its murgas and comparsas, its Certamen de Murgas Icodenses (hosting the Northern Murgas Contest only when it is Icod's turn as venue), the Drag Queen Gala, the Grand Coso Apoteosis, the street parties, and the traditional Burial of the Sardine.
La Orotava Carnival
Traditional carnival in the historic town of La Orotava. The Burial of Crispín (the effigy that has replaced the sardine in La Orotava since 1979, with mourning, a funeral procession and burning in Plaza V Centenario), queen election and parades through the colonial streets of the historic center give it a special charm. A carnival with a taste of tradition in one of the most beautiful towns in Tenerife.

San Marcos Festival - Icod de los Vinos
Patron saint festivities of Icod de los Vinos in honor of Saint Mark the Evangelist (April 25). They include a proclamation, solemn mass and procession of the patron, the Traditions Walk, the Canary Festival, street parties and gastronomic events, in the village of the Millenary Drago.

San Marcos festival with the famous Tegueste Pilgrimage, one of the most colorful on the island with carts, folklore and typical products.
Traditional Folk Dance - Icod de los Vinos
Traditional Canarian folk gathering where all attendees dress in "traje de mago" (traditional Canarian costume). Saint John's Night - Bonfires
The most magical night of the year in Tenerife. On June 23rd, beaches and squares in numerous coastal municipalities fill with authorized bonfires, music and celebration. Grand Traditional Folk Dance - La Orotava
The Grand Baile de Magos of La Orotava is one of the largest and most attended on the island. Thousands of people dressed in traditional Canarian costume gather in the beautiful town of La Orotava to dance to folk music. A celebration of Canarian identity with wine, traditional food and great joy.
San Juan Bautista - San Juan de la Rambla
Celebration of St John's Night, held on the eve of June 23, with bonfires on the beach, jumping over fire and nighttime sea bathing — one of the most magical nights of the year in Tenerife. On June 24 the feast day of the patron saint, St John the Baptist, is celebrated with a procession and the traditional Lighting of the Risco del Mazapé.
San Antonio de Padua - Granadilla
Patron saint festival of Granadilla de Abona with processions, pilgrimages, concerts and family activities.
San Isidro Pilgrimage - La Orotava
Colorful pilgrimage through the historic streets of La Orotava with thousands of pilgrims dressed in traditional Canarian costumes, dozens of carts and folk groups. Carts loaded with traditional products and decorated with flowers pass between the colonial buildings of the historic center. Festive atmosphere with folk music and local product tastings.
Festival of Saint Peter
Patron saint festival of El Sauzal honoring Saint Peter the Apostle. Religious processions, popular street parties, concerts and sports activities. El Sauzal is known for its stunning Atlantic viewpoints and its Casa del Vino, where you can taste the island's best wines.

Festival of Saint John
Patron saint festival of Arico honoring Saint John the Baptist. Celebrated with traditional bonfires on the night of June 23rd, religious processions, popular street parties with live music and local produce tasting. The Saint John bonfires are one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the municipality.
San Pedro Apostol - Guimar
Patron saint festival of Guimar with processions, dances and cultural events. Guimar is known for its pyramids and important Guanche past.
Festival of Santo Hermano Pedro (El Hoyo) - Vilaflor
Festival of the El Hoyo neighborhood, in honor of Santo Hermano Pedro (June 29, Saint Peter's day), in one of the highest villages in Spain — the highest in Tenerife and the Canary Islands, at ~1,400m. Processions, street parties and the opportunity to enjoy pure mountain air. Vilaflor is the gateway to Teide National Park. The municipality's main patron saint festivities take place in August.

San Benito Pilgrimage - La Laguna

Santa Ana Festival - Garachico
Patron saint festival of the historic town of Garachico with processions, dances and the famous swim in El Caleton natural pools. Garachico was the main port of Tenerife before the volcanic eruption of 1706.
Santiago Apostol - Santiago del Teide
Patron saint festivals of the municipality in the west of Tenerife, in honor of Saint James the Apostle. Processions, music, and local gastronomy.
SaboreArico Fair - Arico
Arico’s primary-sector fair: a tribute to the municipality’s farming, livestock and fishing. Local producers bring their goods to the Arico Nuevo neighbourhood for a morning of tastings, direct sales and workshops, with music and a village atmosphere. It is run by the primary-sector department of Villa de Arico town hall, backed by the Canary Islands Government and the Dinamiza Rural project, and aims to build pride in local produce and encourage local consumption. The 2025 edition was held on Sunday 6 July, from 9am to 3pm.

Festival of the Beheading of Saint John
Patron saint festival of Arafo honoring the Beheading of Saint John. Religious processions, street parties with orchestras, Canarian folklore exhibitions and activities for the whole family. Arafo is an agricultural municipality known for its vineyards and artisan winemaking from the Valle de Güímar denomination.
Festival of Saint Joachim
Patron saint festival of Fasnia honoring Saint Joachim. Religious processions through the historic center streets, evening street parties, sports activities and Canarian folklore exhibitions. Locals prepare traditional food like festive meat and potatoes with mojo to share in the square.
Festival of Our Lady of the Incarnation
Patron saint festival of La Victoria de Acentejo honoring Our Lady of the Incarnation. Solemn religious events, processions, street parties and cultural activities. The municipality celebrates its patron in the mid-altitude northern zone, surrounded by Tacoronte-Acentejo vineyards.
San Roque Pilgrimage - Garachico

San Miguel Arcangel Festival
Patron saint festival of San Miguel de Abona with processions, dances, folk exhibitions and local cuisine.
Our Lady of the Light - Guia de Isora
Patron saint festival of Guia de Isora (September) with processions, open-air dances, the traditional burning of the 'Barco de Fuegos' (Boat of Fireworks) with fireworks, a craft fair and a bands contest.

Pilgrimage of the Virgen del Socorro - Güímar
The longest-standing pilgrimage in Tenerife and in the whole of the Canary Islands. Every 7 September, thousands of pilgrims accompany the image of the Virgen del Socorro from the church of San Pedro, in the centre of Güímar, down to her chapel on the beach of El Socorro. The celebration commemorates the appearance of Nuestra Señora del Socorro to the Guanche people on the beach of Chimisay. The next day, 8 September, the image is carried back up to the church of San Pedro. It is one of the largest gatherings in the archipelago.

Festival of Saint Ursula
Patron saint festival of the municipality of Santa Úrsula honoring its patron saint. Religious processions, street parties with live music, folklore group performances and sports activities. The town, located on the northern slope overlooking the Orotava Valley, proudly celebrates its traditions.
Adeje Patron Saint Festivities
Adeje’s patron saint festivities fill October with events honouring its three patrons: the Virgen de la Encarnación, Santa Úrsula and San Sebastián. The main day is that of the Virgen de la Encarnación, which falls on a Sunday, with a solemn mass and a procession accompanied by a light and sound display through the streets of the old town. The programme mixes religious ceremonies with a folk festival, open-air dances, concerts and cultural events, and culminates in the Romería, established in the late 1970s as the closing act.
Our Lady of the Rosary - El Rosario

Festival of Our Lady of Remedies
Patronal festival in honor of Our Lady of Los Remedios, patron saint of Buenavista del Norte since 1659, commemorating the end of a locust plague. The main day is October 25th, and the celebrations extend approximately from October 17th to November 2nd. Every October 25th there is an annual procession through the streets of the town; additionally, every five years an extraordinary procession is held up to the Cruz del Carmen.
