The most comforting spoon dish of Canarian gastronomy. A traditional dish of leftovers: it is made with chickpeas and leftover meat from the stew (beef or cow and chicken or hen), shredded and sautéed in a stir-fry of onion, pepper, tomato, and garlic, and accompanied by diced fried potatoes. It does not contain carrots.
Each family has its secret recipe, but the result is always a dish with a homely flavor. It is traditionally served on Sundays and at popular festivals. A must-try in an authentic guachinche.
