Private Volcanic Wine Tour
Updated 2 August 2026
Private wine tourism experience that visits wineries in Tenerife to taste its unique volcanic wines, cultivated on volcanic soils at the foot of Teide. The tour focuses on the Orotava Valley, one of the five Designations of Origin on the island (along with Abona, Valle de Güímar, Tacoronte-Acentejo, and Ycoden-Daute-Isora). This region preserves the braided cord, a vine training system where the shoots are intertwined to form cords that can reach 15 meters and are only found in the Orotava Valley.
During the tastings, wines made from native varieties such as Listán Blanco, Listán Negro, and Malvasía are sampled, influenced by the trade winds' climate and the soil's minerality. As it is a private and guided visit, the itinerary and specific wineries are tailored to each group and availability.
