An architectural masterpiece designed by Santiago Calatrava and inaugurated on September 26, 2003, it is one of the icons of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and all of the Canary Islands. Its spectacular white concrete roof rises like a great wave up to about 58 meters high, supported at only two points, giving it its characteristic sculptural profile. Inside, it houses the Symphony Hall, crowned by a dome, with 1,616 seats, and the Chamber Hall, with 422 seats.
In January 2011, it was officially renamed the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, in memory of the former president of the Cabildo and the Canary Islands who promoted its construction. Today, it is the home of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and a cultural landmark of the island.
