The PR-TF 8 trail that descends through the Barranco de Afur to Playa de Tamadite has slippery sections due to the gravel and humidity of the ravine, which carries water for much of the year (with pools and small waterfalls). In its circular variant Afur-Taganana-Afur, the return along the coast and mountain includes rocky, narrow, and exposed passages that require a firm footing. Mountain footwear, good physical condition, and caution if suffering from vertigo are recommended.

Accessibility

By car from La Laguna via the Anaga road (TF-12); after passing Cruz del Carmen, take the turn-off that descends towards Roque Negro and Afur (local road TF-136, paved, narrow, and very winding). The pavement ends at the church square in Afur, next to which there is a large parking area; from there, the PR-TF 8 trail to Playa de Tamadite begins. By public transport, the TITSA bus line 076 connects the La Laguna Interchange with Afur (stopping at Cruz del Carmen and Roque Negro).

Risk Level

The PR-TF 8 trail to Playa de Tamadite is often muddy and slippery due to the humidity of the ravine, and the return section along the coast and mountain has narrow and exposed passages; mountain footwear, good physical condition, and caution with vertigo are recommended.
