Remote fishing village in the heart of Anaga16th-century church with Flemish triptychTerraced vineyards with unique wine

Remote fishing village in the heart of Anaga, surrounded by green mountains with vineyard terraces that produce a unique wine. Taganana is one of the oldest settlements in Tenerife after the conquest, with a 16th-century church housing a Flemish triptych from the 16th century ('The Adoration of the Kings', attributed to Marcellus Coffermans, c. 1575).

The village stretches along the slopes of a ravine with white houses and orchards. Local restaurants serve freshly caught fish. From here, you can access the wild beaches of Benijo, Almáciga, and Roque de las Bodegas.

Accessibility

By car from Santa Cruz via the TF-12 that crosses the Anaga Rural Park (via San Andrés or La Laguna) and, near El Bailadero, take the signposted detour of the TF-134 that goes down to the village; by bus, the TITSA line 946 connects the Santa Cruz Interchange with Taganana. Parking within the town is difficult due to its narrow and cobbled streets, so it is common to leave the car in the parking areas on the main road and enter on foot.
