Chamorga

Updated 2 August 2026
Anaga
The most remote village of the Anaga massifThe end of the road between mountainsStone houses and terraced orchards

The most remote village in the Anaga massif and arguably in all of Tenerife. Chamorga is literally the end of the road: a narrow, winding road ends at this hamlet where time seems to have stopped. With barely a few dozen residents, it preserves traditional stone houses, terraced orchards and a rural way of life that has changed little in centuries.

It is the starting point for spectacular trails to the Anaga Lighthouse and the wild northeast coves. The most authentic Tenerife.

Essential information

Accessibility

By car, you can reach it via the TF-123 road, narrow and winding, which ends in the hamlet itself; parking is very limited, at the entrance of the village (next to the bus stop), on the roadside, and in the small square. By public transport, TITSA line 947 connects the Santa Cruz Interchange with Chamorga (via San Andrés, El Bailadero, and Lomo de las Bodegas).

Risk Level

Chamorga is the starting point for mountain trails (PR-TF 5, 6, and 6.1) with sections of cliffs and elevation changes: wear mountain shoes, bring water, and check the forecast, as frequent fog and rain in Anaga make the paths slippery.
