The Museum of Science and the Cosmos (MCC) is an interactive museum in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, inaugurated on May 11, 1993, by the initiative of the Cabildo of Tenerife and the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), next to which it is located. It is part of the Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers of the Cabildo of Tenerife (OAMC) and is designed for visitors to learn by playing, touching, and experimenting. It features a planetarium, a permanent exhibition with interactive modules, and a children's area ("Microcosmos"), as well as temporary exhibitions that change throughout the year.

The building, in the shape of a half-star, was designed by architects Jordi Garcés and Enric Sòria. It is a highly recommended family visit, with astronomy, physics, and other sciences explained in an informative way.

Essential information

Accessibility

It is located at Avenida de los Menceyes, 70 (La Laguna): right in front is the "Museo de la Ciencia" stop of the Tenerife Tram Line 1, which connects with Santa Cruz and the center of La Laguna; there are also buses (Titsa) in the area. By car, access is from the TF-1/Vía de Ronda, and you can park in the Las Quinteras and Plaza del Cristo parking lots, or on the surrounding streets (often congested). The interior of the building is accessible for people with reduced mobility (ramps, elevators, and adapted restrooms), although the exterior plaza may present some difficulty.
