Iglesia de Santa Úrsula
Updated 2 August 2026
The Church of Santa Úrsula is the oldest temple in the municipality of the same name, in the north of Tenerife, next to the town square. It has a Latin cross plan and a single nave, featuring a main chapel and two side chapels separated by stone arches, a semicircular doorway framed by Tuscan pilasters, and a pair-and-knuckle coffered ceiling inside. Its origin dates back to the 16th century: it was already a parish in 1612 and opened for worship in 1614, and the current building is the result of successive extensions.
It is declared a Site of Cultural Interest with the category of Monument due to its historical and artistic value. Among its pieces are a carving of Santa Rita by Fernando Estévez, an ivory image of San Sebastián, and the Virgin of the Conception.
