El Llano de Ucanca is the largest plain in the Teide National Park, a wide endorheic basin located about 2,000 meters above sea level at the foot of the Roques de García. Its yellowish plain is formed by eroded sediments that detach from the walls of the Las Cañadas cirque and accumulate at its base. After the winter rains and snowfalls, the terrain does not manage to filter all the water and a temporary lagoon can form, reflecting the Teide and the surrounding mountains; it usually disappears a few days later if it does not continue to rain.

The toponym "Ucanca" is of aboriginal Guanche origin.
