Eco Whale Watching Premium
Verified content· Updated 27 June 2026
This premium whale watching experience on a sailboat navigates off the southwest coast of Tenerife, within the Teno-Rasca marine strip, certified in 2021 as Europe's first Whale Heritage Site. These waters are home to a resident population of short-finned pilot whales, present all year round, along with the bottlenose dolphin, which can be observed less than two miles from the coast. Sailing and in small groups allows for a quiet and respectful approach, in accordance with Canary regulations that require maintaining a minimum distance of 60 meters, not exceeding 30 minutes of observation, and turning off engines near the animals.
The Blue Boat distinction from the Government of the Canary Islands accredits authorized vessels for this activity. It is a sustainable way to experience one of the world's best spots to see cetaceans in the wild.
