Behind the church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, in Plaza Rodríguez Lara, at the back of the temple, stands the historic Pine, one of the most beloved symbols of the municipality. According to tradition, under its branches, the first thanksgiving mass was held after the second and definitive battle of Acentejo, on December 25, 1495, won by the Castilians; popular memory tells that one of its branches served as an improvised bell tower when the temple did not yet exist. The specimen, centuries-old and of great stature, represents the living link between nature, faith, and the event that gave La Victoria its name, and is a must-stop to understand its historical origin.
