La Baranda Wine House

La Casa del Vino La Baranda is the wine museum of Tenerife, located in the main house of the old Hacienda de San Simón, a 17th-century Canarian agricultural estate in El Sauzal. The building retains traditional elements such as the central courtyard, wooden ceilings, and a small chapel, and was restored after its municipal acquisition (1989) and transfer to the Cabildo of Tenerife (1992), opening as a museum in 1995. In addition to the Museum of Vine and Wine, it houses a tasting room, a Visitor Center of the Casa de la Miel (Tenerife Honey Museum), an art exhibition hall, and a shop with wines from the island's five denominations of origin.
