The Casa del Vino de Tenerife, or Insular Museum of Vine and Wine, occupies the central house of the old Hacienda de San Simon, a traditional Canarian construction from the 17th century located in La Baranda (El Sauzal), managed by the Cabildo of Tenerife through the Tenerife Rural Foundation. The estate was acquired by the municipality of El Sauzal in 1989, transferred to the Cabildo in 1992, and opened to the public on April 15, 1995, as a reference center to promote the island's wines. The complex includes the Insular Museum of Vine and Wine, the Honey Museum, the Agro-biodiversity Interpretation Center, and the Chapel of San Simon.
In its wine shop, you can taste and buy wines from the five denominations of origin of Tenerife, as well as attend wine tasting courses and cheese and ham tastings. The location offers views of the sea and Mount Teide.
