Chirche
Guía de Isora
Mountain village at about 800-900 metersIn the municipality of Guía de IsoraTraditional Canarian architecture of stone and tile

Small mountain village in the municipality of Guía de Isora, at an altitude of about 800-900 meters, which preserves the traditional Canarian architecture of stone and tile intact. Chirche is the starting point for several hiking trails through the Canarian pine forests and the ravines of southwest Tenerife. The village has a peaceful and timeless atmosphere, with locals maintaining traditional orchards and a whitewashed chapel.

A corner of rural Tenerife that seems to have stopped in time.

Essential information

Accessibility

You can reach it by car from Guía de Isora by driving up the road to the hamlet of Chirche. There is a signposted detour towards km 23.400 of the TF-38 road (Era Rompida street) that leads to the parking lots of the Mirador de Chirche, in the upper area of the village. Parking next to the viewpoint is limited, and the streets of the historic center are narrow, cobbled, and sloped, so it is explored on foot and is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Risk Level

If you do any of the hiking routes starting from Chirche (through ravines and ridges in the southwest), wear appropriate footwear, bring water and sun protection, as these are mountain routes with slopes and little shade.
