Rambla de Castro
Los Realejos

A Protected Landscape of about 46 hectares that is one of the most valuable natural and heritage spots in Los Realejos. It is home to one of the finest Canary palm groves on the island, dotted with dragon trees and rich in birdlife. A comfortable coastal path runs through this green oasis above the sea, where nature and history intertwine: the Castro manor house, a former 16th-century estate house; the 16th-century hermitage of San Pedro; the Fort of San Fernando, a small 18th-century defensive fortress built to protect the coast from pirates; and the remains of the Gordejuela water elevator, from 1903, which housed the first steam engine installed on the island.

An essential walk.
