Charco Los Chochos

El Charco Los Chochos is a natural pool with calm and crystal-clear waters located on the coast of Los Silos, in the northwest of Tenerife, sheltered from the open sea by volcanic rock barriers. It reaches a depth of up to about two meters and is accessed via stone stairs equipped with a handrail. Its name comes from the custom of the ancient farmers in the area to soak lupins (called "chochos" in the Canary Islands) in its salty water to remove their bitterness.
From the pool, you can see the cliffs of La Culata and, on clear days, Mount Teide in the background. It is a family-friendly bathing spot and can be enjoyed year-round as long as the conditions of the northern sea allow.
