Catamaran to Los Gigantes Cliffs
Updated 2 August 2026
Sail on a catamaran along the Cliffs of Los Gigantes, vertical walls that plunge directly into the sea and reach up to 600 meters in height, at the edge of the Teno Rural Park between Buenavista del Norte and Santiago del Teide. At their feet, the ocean floor is around 30 meters deep and is part of the Teno-Rasca Marine Strip, the first Whale Heritage Site in Europe (2021). These waters are home to one of the largest resident populations of tropical pilot whales on the continent, along with bottlenose dolphins and about twenty species of cetaceans.
The journey usually combines the contemplation of the cliffs with whale watching and a swimming stop in the Masca Bay area. The whale watching is conducted under wildlife respect rules, maintaining distance and a limited observation time.
