The most magical night of the year in Tenerife. On June 23rd, beaches and squares in numerous coastal municipalities fill with authorized bonfires, music and celebration. Tradition calls for jumping over the flames for purification, swimming in the sea at midnight and burning papers with wishes. Celebrated in all coastal towns of Tenerife, from southern to northern beaches.

Practical Information

Celebrated the night of June 23rd to 24th. Bonfires are PROHIBITED on the beaches of Santa Cruz since 2020; notable spots with authorized bonfires: Playa Jardin (Puerto de la Cruz), El Medano and Los Cristianos. Bring swimwear, towel and some food. Arrive early for a good spot near the bonfire.
