Practical Tips
- Bring warm clothing: mountain viewpoints can be 6-10°C cooler than the coast
- Best photography hours are sunrise and sunset
- Carry water and sun protection, especially at viewpoints without shade
- A rental car is essential: from €25/day in low season
- No Anaga viewpoint requires booking: they are all free and open access. What does require prior authorisation —free of charge, all year round and with limited places— are two trails: La Ensillada–Cabezo de Tejo (Reserva Natural Integral de El Pijaral, the so-called Enchanted Forest) and La Asomada–Cruz de Afur (Zona de Exclusión del Monte de Aguirre). It is requested from the Central de Reservas of the Cabildo de Tenerife (centralreservas.tenerife.es). The remaining PR trails in Anaga do not require authorisation.
