Playa de Almáciga
Updated 2 August 2026
Playa de Almáciga is an isolated beach about 300 metres long and around 35 metres wide, made up of dark volcanic sand mixed with rock and gravel, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife within the Anaga Rural Park, next to Taganana. Open to the ocean and surrounded by imposing cliffs, it experiences strong waves and shifting currents for much of the year, making it a popular spot for surfers and surf schools. It has municipal cleaning and a lifeguard service in season (June to September, from 09:00 to 20:00), as well as danger signage and a monitoring team.
Camping is prohibited on the beach and its surroundings, and motorhome activity is controlled. It is an undeveloped beach, with no seafront promenade and not accessible for wheelchairs.
