Mesa del Mar Pools, Tacoronte

Mesa del Mar, Tacoronte
Natural oceanic volcanic rock poolsLocal and tranquil atmosphere, very frequented by locals, especially in summerCoastal village nestled between cliffs

Natural oceanic pools hidden in the tiny coastal area of Mesa del Mar, belonging to Tacoronte. A local atmosphere spot, very popular among the locals, especially in summer (La Arena beach boasts a Blue Flag), where volcanic rock pools are filled with water from the Atlantic Ocean. The setting is magical: a small coastal tourist area formed by chalets on the upper part and apartment buildings by the sea (the Mar y Sol complex stands out), at the foot of the cliffs of the rugged Acentejo coast, with a tranquil and local atmosphere.

There is a small restaurant next to the pools. Access via a narrow and winding road.

Essential information

Accessibility

By car, you descend from the center of Tacoronte (about 5 km away) via a narrow, winding, and steep road that goes down the cliffside to the coastal area of Mesa del Mar, where there is free parking next to the pools; it's advisable to be very cautious while driving and to arrive early in the summer when it is very busy. The natural pool and the adjacent La Arena beach are accessed on foot through a pedestrian tunnel.

Risk Level

As these are natural pools open to the ocean, avoid swimming during rough seas or high tide, when waves crash over the rocks, and always monitor sea conditions.
