The Mirador del Cabezo del Tejo is a natural balcony located in the Integral Natural Reserve of El Pijaral, within the Anaga Rural Park (municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife). From here, you can see the northern coast of Anaga, with the hamlet of Taganana, the rocks of Almáciga and Benijo, and prominently in the foreground, the Roque de las Ánimas. It is reached via the marked circular trail PR-A 72, which starts from the La Ensillada parking lot and passes through the laurel forest known as the 'enchanted forest'.

As it is an integral natural reserve, access requires prior free authorization with a limited quota of visitors per day.

Essential information

Accessibility

Access is via the PR-A 72 trail that starts from the La Ensillada parking lot (TF-12 road to El Bailadero and then TF-123 towards Chamorga), with very limited spaces, and requires prior free authorization requested on the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo de Tenerife (maximum 45 people/day).

Risk Level

It is a mountain route within an integral natural reserve: wear appropriate footwear, bring water, and respect the quota and signage, as the path runs through uneven terrain and exposed areas with frequent fog.
