Basaltic peak of 706 m in AnagaNicknamed the 'Matterhorn of Anaga' for its silhouetteShort circular trail from the hamlet of Taborno

The Roque de Taborno is a rocky peak of volcanic origin that reaches 706 meters in altitude and is one of the geological emblems of the Anaga Massif, in the north of Tenerife. Its pointed silhouette has earned it the nickname 'Matterhorn of Anaga'. It rises above the hamlet of Taborno, a small settlement in the Anaga district (municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife) located on the ridge that separates the ravines of Taborno and Afur.

It is accessible via a short circular route that starts from the hamlet itself and offers panoramic views of the ravines, cliffs, and the Anaga coast. The whole forms part of the Anaga Rural Park, Biosphere Reserve.

Essential information

Accessibility

Access is by road to the hamlet of Taborno, where you can park near the square and the chapel, the starting point of the trail; there is also access by bus via line 275 of TITSA, which has its terminal in Taborno and departs from the La Laguna Interchange (from Santa Cruz it is necessary to transfer in La Laguna).

Risk Level

The circular trail has narrow sections and is exposed to cliffs, so it is not recommended in rain, nor for people with vertigo or without hiking experience.
