Faro de Punta de Teno

The Punta de Teno Lighthouse stands at the northwestern tip of Tenerife, on the cliffs of the point that gives it its name, within the Teno Rural Park and in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte. It is one of the seven lighthouses that mark the coasts of the island: the original one, designed by Jose Sanz Soler and built in stone between 1891 and 1893, began operation on October 7, 1897. Next to that original tower stands the current one, a cylindrical structure of reinforced concrete painted with white and red stripes, automated since 1978.
From the surroundings, you can see the cliffs of Los Gigantes, the volcanic walls of the Teno massif, and the nearby island of La Gomera, making it one of the most photographed spots in northwest Tenerife.
